“Igor Herzyk, musician and music producer, presents a portion of dirty and rough club electronics in the cold shades of Scandinavian glitch, sprinkled with occasional live instruments. The album is called “Music For Chinchillas” and these cute rodents actually appear as the “inspiration” of the compositions, and in fact – they even appear on the cover!

In addition to chinchillas, the musical inspiration for the 7 compositions containing 24 minutes of sounds was Brian Eno, love and illegal techno “free parties.” Indeed – this album is closer to club-oriented achievements such as Burial or Aphex Twin, than to the more ethereal and song-oriented performers of the Scandinavian scene, or the above-mentioned ambient minimalist Brian Eno. And it all started at night when Igor, his girlfriend and two chinchillas were listening to Eno’s album “Music For Airports”. It was then that the concept of an album loosely referring to the master of ambient combined with chinchillas was created. Igor Herzyk also lists among his musical influences: Rival Consoles, Venetian Snares, Blockhead and DJ Krush.

Igor first drew from slower climates, and then added bit elements straight from techno, guitar sounds from the musician’s old demos and sampled sounds that came from rodents, called chinchillas, recorded for hours in a cage. Two songs were even named after chinchillas; in the song “Glee chin” there are “instruments” in the sound layer such as a glass bottle, adhesive tape or a rubber band. “Let Me in Your Cage” serves as a cool Eno-like atmosphere mixed with dirty beats and hushly sung lyrics by a guest female vocalist

“It’s an album with mainly instrumental music, mostly created electronically, but there are also some live instrumental parts. The samples cut, processed and placed in their entirety have gained a completely new context on this album.” – comments Igor Herzyk himself about the album.””
